How Do Solar Pool Heating Systems Work?

A control monitors the temperature in the solar collectors and pool through sensors. When the solar panels are at least 6 degrees warmer than the pool water, a diverter valve forces the flow from the pool pump to the panels to harness the energy and then return back to the pool. After the pool has reaced the desired temperature, the diverter valve will return to its normal position and the pool water will drain out of the panels and back into the pool.
